Grantham Centre: Food Footprints

Artists and makers from the Art House respond to new ideas that could transform the way we produce food and energy. What does the future look like, and how should we feel about new technologies such as farmer-drones, insects as food, and underwater farming?

Inspired by research from the Universityʼs Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, these artworks map humanityʼs trajectory from hunter-gatherer societies to hi-tech economies, the effect that weʼve had on the planet, and the huge challenges we now face.

The Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures brings together experts from all disciplines to focus on the problem of Earthʼs dwindling resources, generating new ideas and technologies to make our communities more sustainable.

The Art House is a Sheffield charity that helps improve health outcomes for people from marginalised groups, particularly homeless people and people with mental health issues, by developing their creativity.
