A Life of Activism: The Legend of James Montgomery

James Montgomery was a political activist, labelled a traitor and imprisoned twice for voicing his beliefs. When he died, Sheffield went into mourning for one of its most beloved citizens. This performance uses archive material to tell his moving story.

A Life of Activism is performed by members of Eclipse, the UK’s principal black-led theatre company.
