Alex Chinneck will be discussing his past projects with a particular focus on magic and illusion. He will also describe his approach to creating the Tinsley Art Project, a major new public artwork for Sheffield.
What might the future hold for this extraordinary place, and how can art capture its essence?
Alex Chinneck is famous for his London installations. They include a building in Covent Garden that appeared to float in mid-air, and house built in Southwark Street from paraffin bricks, which then melted slowly away. He is a graduate of Chelsea College of Art, a director of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and an experienced international lecturer.
