Memories in the Digital Age: Project, Protect and Preserve

Our DVDs and hard drives won’t last forever. Or even for as long as a reel of celluloid film. As we live through a period of rapid technological change, how can we make sure our memories are preserved for future generations?

This thought provoking installation showcases rare pieces from the University’s special collections archive, alongside work by some of Sheffield's first film pioneers. The idea is to start an important conversation about the preservation of digital records.

Arts Council EnglandThis exhibit is part of the Futurecade series of events.
Futurecade is generously supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

The project has been developed in collaboration with Paul Carruthers, an award-winning artist and designer with over 20 years experience in lighting, furniture design and manufacturing.
