Sheffield theatre company Dead Earnest present a performance based on the real experiences of women living with breast cancer who use the web to share information and experiences about their illness. Followed by an open discussion, led by the researchers who collected these moving stories.
Dead Earnest specialise in drama that highlights health and wellbeing issues. They’ve worked with NHS England, the General Medical Council and the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Professor Peter Bath is an expert in health informatics. He is leading the project called A Shared Space and a Space for Sharing which looks at how people in extreme circumstances share information online to support their health and wellbeing.
Peter’s associates on this project are Melanie Lovatt, who is researching ageing and the sociology of health and illness, Dr Julie Ellis, a sociologist specialising in identity and relationships at the end of life and Sarah Hargreaves, whose research focuses on ageing, health, and health technologies.
